Wild Thyme welcomes all enquiries and encourages free-ranging consultations with potential clients from the outset.
Tamsin Lear (who is the creative force behind Wild Thyme) with whom you will be communicating, will be delighted to arrange a meeting with you.
It is often useful to meet at the wedding venue, so Tamsin can assess the layout, kitchen facilities and find out what hire equipment may be required.
At this meeting your budget, catering requirements and staff hire can be discussed in more detail.
Once details are established, a detailed quotation will be sent to you. All costs are transparent thus helping you to make your decision!
Site assessment of the venue
and complimentary tastings
are all part of the service offered. Usually, upon confirmation of your booking, a tasting can be arranged at Tamsin’s home near Honiton. This is useful as a “rehearsal” so both parties can be reassured of the quality of Tamsin’s cooking, presentation and whether your choice of menu can be refined, improved or adapted!
Wedding style
Whether you are planning a small intimate family wedding, classy Champagne/Canapé reception, informal picnic or sumptuous 3 course sit-down wedding breakfast, we will create you a special bespoke menu according to your taste and budget.
Each wedding is different and every couple have their own ideas about their personal vision of their wedding day.
Consequently, there are no set wedding menus to limit your choice and no established formulas. It is fun to explore original ideas and perhaps throw convention to the wind!
For example, you may want a madly social reception with lots of Champagne and a wide selection of delicious, tempting Canapés followed by a sit-down main course and dessert, or the reverse! - a sit-down starter and main course followed by a dessert stall where guests can sample different desserts as and when whimsy takes them!

Wedding Venues
Wild Thyme has the flexibility to cater in most venues- from a basic village hall kitchen, Marquee Service Tent or fabulous bespoke kitchen. We have even coped with flooding and power cuts with aplomb!
Staff and Equipment Hire
Staff selected to work for Wild Thyme are efficient, discreet and presentable. They can multi-task and understand their role is to be of service and convenience to you and your guests. Waiting staff are smartly dressed in tailored pale blue shirts with a discreet wild thyme logo.
Wild Thyme has two highly experienced assistant cooks (if required).
Professional bar staff can also be hired to run a bar and mix cocktails.
